Some people evolve too early, and some evolve late – I fall into the second category.
People in the first category are highly mature; they know what they want in life, what they are doing and where they are going.
They have all the answers to all Ws and H (what, why, where, when and how).
People in the second category take time to understand themselves, and by the time they decide on life, finances, and education, they are already late.
But it is that distinction from the herd that makes them unique.
Yes, even when people are late in life, they are unique – just like anybody else.
So, know that you are special wherever you are in your journey.
It is hard to mention a moment or a year when things changed in your life.
It is a journey, and amidst the ups and downs of life, I realized how deeply yoga had seeped into my being – my thought process, outlook towards life, and choices – basically my destiny.
Yoga has the incredible power to create profound shifts in our lives, touching our physical bodies and our minds and spirits.
As someone who once embarked on a yoga journey with curiosity and an open heart, I can confidently say that yoga has completely transformed my life.
In this blog, I want to share my personal story and how yoga has brought about positive change, empowering me to live a more authentic, balanced, and fulfilling life.
I started with meditation and not asanas.
As a child, I used to sit for 30 minutes every day to meditate as per my guru’s guidance.
I believed yoga was meditation and reading scriptures like Bhagwad Gita, Ramayana, and other philosophical books.
Yama and Niyam, although not defined, are part of the daily routine.
This helped me become a very disciplined child.
So, out of 8 limbs, as described in Ashtanga yoga, I followed 7 diligently.
The only limb that remained untouched was asana.
When I first stepped onto the mat, I thought it was an exercise to improve my physical fitness.
I experienced increased strength, flexibility, balance, and body awareness through regular practice.
Yoga helped me heal and prevent injuries, and I discovered a renewed sense of vitality and energy within my body.
One of the most significant ways yoga impacted my life was its ability to alleviate stress and bring mental clarity.
The deliberate focus on breath and movement during my practice provided a respite from the noise and demands of daily life.
Yoga became my sanctuary, where I could release tension, quiet my mind, and find a sense of inner calm and peace.
Yoga opened the doors to self-discovery and self-acceptance in ways I never imagined.
I gained a deeper understanding of my body’s capabilities and limitations through yoga.
I learned to listen to the wisdom within, embracing my unique journey without judgment or comparison.
Yoga taught me to love and accept myself unconditionally, fostering greater self-worth and confidence.
As I continued my yoga practice, I discovered the profound connection between the mind and body.
Yoga encouraged me to be fully present in each moment and to observe the sensations and emotions arising during my practice.
This awareness extended beyond the mat, allowing me to navigate life’s challenges with greater resilience and mindfulness.
I became attuned to my body’s signals and made choices that honored my overall well-being.
Beyond the physical and mental benefits, yoga sparked a spiritual awakening within me.
The ancient wisdom and philosophy behind yoga inspired me to explore my spiritual nature and seek a deeper connection with the universe.
Through meditation and introspection, I found solace, inner guidance, and a profound sense of interconnectedness with all beings and the divine.
Yoga became a sacred practice that nourished my soul and provided a greater understanding of purpose and meaning.
Yoga has undoubtedly transformed my life in ways I could never have imagined.
It has brought healing, balance, and empowerment into every aspect of my being.
Through the breathwork, asanas, and spiritual teachings, I have discovered a path of self-awareness, self-acceptance, and personal growth.
Yoga has taught me to embrace the present moment, live authentically, and find beauty in the journey of self-transformation.
If you consider embarking on a yoga journey, I encourage you to take that first step.
Allow yoga to guide you towards a life filled with physical vitality, mental clarity, and spiritual awakening.
Do not hurry; let yoga become a catalyst for positive change in your life, and embrace the transformation that awaits you.
Yoga for healthy living
